ICC update…The ICC component of
flood policies is assignable to new buyers (Details on this will be
included in recovery booklet soon to be released)

The District 5 Recovery Guide
to Post Katrina Resources booklet is nearing completion. Copies
will soon be available at Gulf Coast Bank and on the LCIA website

Financial Recovery Workshop plans
are underway. Topics of discussion will include SBA, LRA, Insurance
claim solutions, Insurance outlook in our area, Katrina Tax Relief Act,
Home buying, and hopefully several more.

Fundraising effort has begun. Our
goal for 2006 is $1,000,000
-
Effort initiated to get the word
out to residents as to how vital a role they can play in achieving our
fundraising goal. Encouraging individuals to donate as well as contact
their employer to inquire about corporate philanthropy possibilities.
Companies want to help their employees get back into their communities.
It is a much more powerful request if we all call our corporate offices
rather than have them solicited by the committee.

Bookmobile has been set up at the
library on Harrison
-
Presently working to help both
Lakeview Playground and the fire stations on Harrison and Robert E Lee
-
We have formed a subcommittee
specifically to address the LRA (Louisiana Recovery Authority) issues.
A representative from the LRA will be attending our next steering
committee meeting to brief everyone

Finally, our Group D Final Report
has been submitted to UNO for drafting

Progress is being made, and we
look forward to accomplishing our mission of getting everyone home
