What is the Lil’ Easy?
The Lil’ Easy is RTA’s new
flexible-route transit service.
The service will use sleek
14-seat mini-buses to circulate
throughout a neighborhood,
connecting people with other
public transit. This service was
specially customized for
Lakeview. It combines 3 main bus
stops that are also transfer
points, with 43 new flexible
stops spread throughout the
neighborhood.
The 3 main stops are at Canal
Blvd. and City Park Ave; UNO at
Alumni Dr. and the Jefferson
Parish (JeT) transfer point at
Veterans Ave. and Carrollton
Ave. For the 43 flexible stops,
you need a reservation. Just
call 504.827.7433 at least an
hour in advance, and we pick you
up or drop you off at any of the
three main transfer points or
any of the 43 flexible stops.
When do I need to reserve a
ride?
You need a reservation from any
of the 43 flexible stops, but
you do not need a reservation
from the 3 main bus stops. The
Lil’ Easy is easy and
convenient!
How much does the Lil’ Easy
cost?
Riding the Lil’ Easy costs
$1.25, the same as riding a
regular bus. All RTA tokens,
passes and transfers are
accepted on Lil’ Easy. The
service operates from 5:00 AM to
10:00 PM 7 days a week. It
provides easy connections and
transfers to RTA and Jefferson
Parish (JeT), so you can get
anywhere you want to go.
What makes Lil’ Easy different?
Regular transit buses have set
routes and stops, mainly on
larger streets. But riders who
don’t live on a bus route often
have a long walk to the nearest
stop. That’s a major
inconvenience, especially for
elderly passengers or anyone
with shopping bags or packages.
Lil’ Easy is different: it’s a
special type of service that
brings easy transit to every
resident of our community. Lil’
Easy uses 43 well-identified
stops located all throughout
Lakeview. That means most people
only need to walk 2-3 blocks to
get to the nearest bus stop.
Like regular buses, the route
for the Lil’ Easy starts and
ends at specific places. But the
secret to its convenience is
that it goes to the 3 main stops
on every trip, but it doesn’t go
to every flexible stop on every
trip; it only goes to the
flexible stops when passengers
have made a reservation and are
waiting. So anytime you need a
ride, all you do is call Lil’
Easy at least an hour in advance
and one of our modern new
14-seat minibuses (which can
hold 2 wheelchairs) will come
right to the stop closest to
you!
