New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA)’s Disposition of Road Home/LLT
Properties (NORA Committee)
Mission: Partner
with NORA and its Staff and Board
Members to continue to develop,
implement and monitor an action plan for
the assimilation of properties sold to
the State through the Road Home program
back into Lakeview in a way that
recognizes the desires of our residents
and promotes redevelopment and new home
construction.
Committee Projects:

Assist NORA in overseeing implementation
of the “Lot Next Door” Ordinance to
assure its success
·
Continue the implementation of the
highly successful LCIA/NORA Phase 2
Property Sales Program
·
Act as an informational arm of NORA in
advising all interested parties in the
purchase of Road Home properties in
Lakeview
·
Market all available Phase 2 properties
·
Representatives of the NORA Committee
actively monitor NORA/Road Home property
issues unique to South Lakeview and its
historic areas and advocate on behalf of
the area
·
Conduct neighborhood informational “town
hall” meetings to keep residents
informed of the process and solicit
their input
·
Host and coordinate Rebuild Lakeview Day
where vendors representing all phases of
home building come together to assist
property buyers, including the areas of
financing, landscaping, renovation, and
new construction
·
Monitor the maintenance of Road Home
properties sold through the Phase 2 or
“Lot Next Door” programs
·
Work with NORA to develop additional
short-term and long-term plans for what
happens to remaining properties
·
Study the possible use of the Planning
District’s Community Development
Corporation (CDC) to redevelop the
properties
·
Report and provide recommendations to
the LCIA Board as appropriate and report
to the general membership at bi-monthly
meetings
